I wanted to write this article about cleansing skin care solutions, because I have seen some skin cleansing routines that are counter-productive, to say the least. If you arent careful, you could cause damage that will hasten the signs of aging, making you look older, before your time. Heres a safe and gentle approach.
Good skin care begins in the shower. When you look at your shampoos and body washes, you will find that this, in addition to the impurities that are present in your water supply can be quite significant. You may be looking at upwards of several hundred impurities that might be influencing the health of your skin and it is up to you to keep that number down!
First, you have to realize that there are some environmental toxins that are simply not going to get fixed, but getting an effective shower head filter can put you on the right track. There is step one right there!
Antibacterial cleansing skin care has become increasingly popular, but the antibacterial agent found in most body washes and soaps is triclosan. Its bad for the environment and could be bad for our health. Theres no reason to risk exposure, because there are natural antibacterial agents, including manuka honey.
If you are really interested in taking good care of your skin, carefully check all of your personal care items. Things like parabens, petrochemicals and fragrances can make your skin more dried out and more unhealthy. Instead, replace them with things like manuka honey bars, tea tree oil and orange oil.
Remember that you should not need to use exfoliation to get your skin clean. Micro beads will irritate your skin and cause inflammation, which in turn leads to free radical damage. This is something that can easily lead to wrinkling and sagging skin.
If you have a problem with excessive oiliness, blackheads, pimples or other problems caused by dirt and grime in the pores, add a weekly or bi-weekly mask to your cleansing skin care routine. Some of the best ingredients are natural clay extracts, manuka honey (yes, again), allantoin, macadamia oil, Shea butter, natural vitamin E and Functional Keratin.
Clay has long been used for deep skin cleansing. It absorbs excessive oil and gently pulls dirt out of the pores. Theres a special kind of clay found only in New Zealand that acts like a disinfectant, effectively healing blemishes and preventing new ones from forming.
Kaolin is the effective component in clay, and when combined with Bentone gel, it is impressively effective. There are many different care masks that will combine these two ingredients so see what is out there.
The inclusion of macadamia oil and Shea butter prevents the mask from drying out on your skin, making it easier to remove. Some of the old masks would do as much to clog the pores as they did to un-clog them and getting them off required excessive scrubbing that caused redness and irritation.
These ingredients and these methods are going to help you keep your skin in much better shape. Take a moment to consider how they are going to keep your skin looking young and wonderful.
